Collaborative whiteboards
When we introduced whiteboards, we mentioned that a collaborative aspect would take a while. And boy did it take a while, but it’s here! Whiteboards no longer have a “save” button but each action, move, rotation, colour change, etc gets sent directly to our servers, and every over member viewing the whiteboard gets those updates live!
At the top of the right of a whiteboard, you can see who’s currently viewing it. Also included if an information if the person can edit, or just view the whiteboard.

Limitations
Only campaign members are counted as “currently viewing” and get live updates. We will investigate ways to allow anyone with a whiteboard open (including unlogged users) to see live updates.
Existing whiteboards
Sadly, the architecture and infrastructure required for collaborative whiteboards is incompatible with the way we did it for the prototype, so existing whiteboards have been reset (they still exist, but any shape on them has unfortunately been lost).
Referrals
Want to spread the love of Kanka to not just your players but your friends and community? You can now do so with a referral link! Go to your Referral settings to get your unique referral code when promoting Kanka.

Note that people who join your campaign with a campaign invite link will also count towards your referred count. This is not retroactive.
Showcase
We’re replacing our static “featured” campaigns with a new showcase page. Campaigns can apply to be spotlighted by filling out a little form about your world and inspiration. Each month, we’ll publish an article here with some snippets from a handful of worlds. The new showcase page will always show the most recently spotlighted campaigns.
General improvements
Characters are no longer bound to just a single location, but can now have multiple! We also migrated organisation locations, race locations and creature locations to all use the same code base, instead of each module having it’s own duplicate code.
The attributes management interface is now more condensed to allow an easier flow, especially on smaller screens.
When creating or editing entities or posts, the tabs and save button now “stick” to the top of the page as you scroll so that they stay always visible and easy to access.

The entity action menu has been re-organised to group similar things together to make it feel less random.

The dashboard action menu has also been re-organised, with new labels clearly indicating what each section is, and putting things together.

When customizing a dashboard, the one huge “…” action menu has been split up into two. Clicking the name of the dashboard brings up a dropdown to switch to other dashboards.

And the action menu has been slimmed down and the labels have been improved.

Bug fixes
We’ve fixed multiple performance issues on maps and modules management to get those pages to load faster.
When copying a tag, the tag’s colour field properly gets populated.
Fixed a bug where the gallery wouldn’t load every element on large screens.
That’s it for the overview of this release.
As always, thanks to our amazing subscribers for making this huge updates possible! Come join us on our Discord to get early sneak peaks of future updates.
