1. What we shipped
This week was busy mostly fixing bugs that surfaced while I was on holiday. And on wednesday morning I woke up to the php2shell announcement and got to patch all the servers that run Kanka. I did inspect the server logs and found no traces of the exploit being used before the fix, but I per-emptively rotated all of Kanka’s secrets and keys as a precautionary measure anyway.
2. What we’re working on next
Currently working on the finishing touches for version 3.16, which includes multiple character sheets on entries, eras on calendars, and some code refactoring that I’ve been wanting to deal with for years. The refactoring is a never-ending process with the goal of one day having custom fields on custom categories to make them stupidly overpowered for your worldbuilding needs.
3. Behind the scenes
While on holiday I had some visions for reworking the entry form. I’m currently working on several iterations and hope to have something available as an experimental toggle for users in the next few weeks.

Also, Kanka is turning 9 years old on Monday! I need to prepare a blog post.
