1. What we shipped
Made multiple improvements to the markdown exports. Added more information of the entry (like a character’s races and families). Added an entry inventory, entry abilities, and entry assets section to the export when appropriate. Made a few performance improvements to export big campaigns quicker.
I’ve also shipped a new helper page for the experimental text editor, which is also available when typing /help.
I’ve also reworded a lot of messages when a free campaign tries to access a premium feature. This is an never ending job on my end to explain premium features with more clarity.
2. What we’re working on next
I’m working on several big refactors of the code like no longer hardcoding a bunch of category types in the app and letting the database dictate those. I’ve build the foundation to allow custom category statuses for custom categories. I’m also renaming all the code still referencing “boosters” in the code to “benefits” to reduce my own mental load when coding.
Lastly, Jon and I are reworking the whole onboarding emails to. Well, he reworked them a few months ago. I’ve been dragging my feet to implement them, but progress is finally happening, huzzah!
3. Behind the scenes
We’re experimenting with some tweaks to subscriptions and auto-assigning a premium campaign on subscription if the user only has one campaign. We want to see if this removes people cancelling saying they didn’t figure out how to use their benefits. We’ve made it so that the auto-assigned premium campaign has no cooldown on being removed. We’re also testing better wording on making non-admins “sponsor” the premium features of a campaign for all of its members to allow the DM to take a rest from having to pay for everything.
