1. What we shipped
We’ve pushed a few improvements and fixed a few bugs with the new experimental text editor, fixed some texts which still referenced the old terminology, and overall just did some light polishing work following the massive release we did last week.
I also fixed a lot of page titles and meta descriptions on our frontend. Jon has been busy auditing our performance on search results, and when our about page gets thousands of impressions but a 0.03% click-through rate, his alarms go off.
2. What we’re working on next
3.9 was only released last week but we’re already close to shipping 3.10, which is currently titled “everything you’ve ever wanted”. We’re tackling a lot of features from the roadmap, and also finally unifying the category entry lists. We’ve dropped some screenshots in our Discord and on Reddit, but here’s a fresh one.

This has been a massive project I’ve been dreading since 2017. We have a few other big changes planned for later this year that were blocked by the old system, so I took the plunge. And yes, tags are making it to the old table lists – rejoice!
3. Behind the scenes
I was working on some copy for our premium features and found that if you try an enable premium features on a campaign without a subscription, you are greeted by this monstrosity. Why does no one tell me these things? ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

I’ve also been tweaking the onboarding experience for new users and tracking how small changes impact the likelihood of someone creating 3 entries and login in a second time. I introduced a new onboarding system not long ago, but forgot to add any tracking metrics to figure out if the changes were actually working. I’m now waiting for enough data to gather.
We’re also reworking our cancellation form to gather more (optional) data about why people stop using Kanka as to better address those issues rather than flying blind. We even added switching to World Anvil as an option, because we believe in freedom of choice, even questionable ones ๐
