1. What we shipped
Following last week’s release of 3.8, this week we focused on fixing bugs that went undetected in our testing. On a personal note, I have family visiting which also means that I couldn’t comfortably ship a bunch of new toys for you all to worldbuild with.
As a reminder, you can now submit your campaign to appear on our showcase! Go to our showcase page and apply!
2. What we’re working on next
We keep adding nice things to CSV importers. While not aiming for something perfect, we are aiming for good enough to be useful on day one, hence the extra attention to detail. We’re also working on re-working the whole campaign application process bet, as outlined in our Q1 objectives.
3. Behind the scenes
We are brewing a very big change to update Kanka’s internal terminology (to hopefully avoid the age-old questions of what’s an entity? a post? what’s this entry field? why don’t we use standard names?) to make forms way easier to read and the experience significantly easier for new users. We are looking at how other tools do it and searching for a balance between standards and keeping it worldbuilding focused. While I’ve mentioned on our Discord my desire to rename the races module for years, this isn’t part of this project’s focus, as modules can be renamed (we did debate renaming abilities to features as part of this project, but ultimately scrapped that idea).
